Car terminals as a separate logistics link emerged as a result of the rapid growth in demand for imported cars. The main goal of car terminals is to provide high-quality, economical, fast delivery of cars from manufacturers to dealers. The development of the automotive business has led to the need to improve the handling of such a specific cargo and to combine all procedures in "one hand": from unloading the car at the point of reception to sending it to the owner.
What are car terminals?
Modern car terminals are intermediate points in the system of mixed and multimodal transportation of cars.
The throughput of such car terminals is estimated at several hundred thousand cars a year, and up to ten thousand cars can be stored at the same time.
It is quite clear that the key element is the optimal management and distribution of the area of the car terminal, since its throughput largely depends on this.
The placement and storage of cars on the territory of the terminal has a direct impact on the competitiveness of the car terminal as an element of the logistics chain.
Multilevel parking is the most effective way to accommodate a large number of vehicles in a small area. That's why Mutrade's customer came with an idea to expand his car storage place by installing parking equipment. With installation of 250 units of 4-level car stackers, the car storage area has increased by 1000 cars.
Now installation is under progress.
